Although NYS did not meet its 2007 goal of $60,350.00
we are pleased to have reached $49,355.00, an increase of
$16,561.00.The number of contributors increased in spite of
any attrition. NY ranked 4th highest in the nation.
The National 2007 total came to $836,679.00 received from
4,328 contributors, for an increase of $12,149.00.
The IIABNY Matching Fund Program had a positive affect, and
more than $10,000.00 was distributed to charities in the name
of contributors. The state budget runs through May, so that
funds are available until then. IIABNY intends to extend this
item in their upcoming budget. Hopefully it will be approved.
Why not take advantage of the Matching Fund Program and get
a two for the price of one advantage.
InsurPac 2008
We’re off to a great start for 2008. This year’s
campaign was kicked off at the IIABNY Board meeting in Albany
on January 22nd, and L-Day on the 23rd, where $6,000.00 was
raised. As of January 31st National raised $104,095.00, while
New York raised $9,090.00. We thank all of you who contributed.
In an environment where Congress is pushing for the Optional
Federal Charter, and the end of McCarran – Ferguson,
we need every member’s continued support in order to
protect our own livelihood. Let us keep the momentum going.
Please respond when you receive a letter or a call asking
you to do your part. Out of 1,400 member agencies in NY, 189
contributions were received last year, for an average of $35.18
per agency. We can do better than that.
