MARCH/APRIL 2008

DONALD M. ARCHDEACON, CPCU, AAI

We were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of one of our dear friends and associates, Don Archdeacon, on February 15, 2008. Don was an energetic participant and leader in the insurance business for many years. He was an active owner of The Archdeason Agency in East Setauket, served as president of IIAA Suffolk County in 1976-77 and president of CPCU LI Chapter in 1975-76.

Don was also very involved with the Youth Exchange program in the Stony Brook Rotary Club and was a past president of that group. With 5 children, it was not surprising to learn that he was president of the 3 Village Little League and still involved with the Umpires Association.

Many of our members and associates may have known Don as their instructor in a CPCU class, a brokers’ licensing course or a variety of insurance subjects he taught over many years.

Don, who was 72 years of age, lived in Stony Brook with his wife Mary. He is also survived by their 5 grown children. Don will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
