JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2008
December 11 Holiday Meeting Notes & Photos
Watermill Inn

President Mike Romeo opened the meeting with an attendance of almost 150 members and employees, vendors and company people. Past Pres. Don Hester gave his usual heartfelt invocation, and then Mike introduced Marine Corps representatives Sgt. Ortega and Corporal Osborne, who came to accept approximately 85 toys. Those who didn’t bring toys contributed $10. or more which amounted to $530. In addition to all this, IIABNY contributed $125. to each County Board’s favorite charity in celebration of its 125th anniversary. Suffolk designated Toys for Tots.

Mike announced our annual L-Day on January 23rd, and encouraged members to join us on a free roundtrip bus ride, and free lunch in Albany, thanks to IIABNY. The refreshments on the bus are on TriCounty, Suffolk County and various sponsors. We can’t emphasize enough the importance and effect of a large delegation of members visiting face to face with our legislators in Albany. IIABNY also provides buses in various areas of NY State. Join us. You’ll enjoy the experience. Go to our local and IIABNY websites for details and registration.

Michael also reminded our members that we are still accepting InsurPac contributions for 2007, and as State InsurPac Chair, I just happened to have a few forms handy. Thanks to a few conscientious members I came away with $800. in contributions that evening. Our sincere gratitude to those who gave.

There were many wonderful toys collected from our guests that evening.
This lady doesn’t know it yet, but she will soon be murdered.
One of the suspects…….
Could the husband have done it?
Or maybe it was her nosy secretary, Ginger Schnapps?
Or Decker Hall, the handsome deliveryman?
