The Suffolk County Board of
the Independent Agents and Brokers Association is pleased
to kick off the annual Scholarship Program for the 2008 year.
The Scholarship Program started in 1998 and a total of $37,000
has been given to scholarship recipients since inception.
This year, two $1,500 awards will be given out.
Applications are accepted from Suffolk County High School
seniors who will be attending college in September, 2008.
Each applicant must submit an application along with an essay
addressing the following topic:
If you had the power to re-word any portion of the motor vehicle
rules pertaining to learners’ permits, limited-use junior
licenses, full-use licenses and senior licenses, would you
choose to do so? If not, why do you think the rules are affective
as-is? If yes, please reshape any portion of this motor vehicle
law in your own words.
In January 2008, applications
will be sent to the Guidance Department of every high school
in Suffolk County. Applications are also available on our
website www.suffolkagents.com.
Applications will be due by May
1, 2008.
Thank you to our membership, who make this opportunity for
Suffolk Agents to give back to our community possible.
